VRTOC

The use of Real-Time Operations Centers enables a smaller group of experts to support a larger number of active rigs. However:

  1. Monitoring and management of data is manual
  2. Human Resource Intensive
  3. The Entire fleet cannot be monitored efficiently
  4. There is a often a lag in the receipt of the data
  5. Data is low frequency owing to satellite bandwidth limitations
  6. Responses and Recommendations may be sent too late to avoid NPT situations
  7. Required Meta Data is often not available at the Right Time, or at all (not in real-time data streams)
  8. There are simple threshold alarms but this leads to false alerts and is resource intensive

4IR Virtual Real-Time Operations Centres

The use of Smart Alerts and Automated Meta Data Management will enable:

  1. The Creation of a Virtual Real-Time Operations Centre: Internal Cloud + Connectivity to Edge resources
  2. Automated Smart Alerting for True Well Incidents using Manage-by-Exception (MBE) Login
  3. The coverage of the entire Rig Fleet with the existing RTOC Resources
  4. The reduction of false Alerts
  5. The automation of Engineering Analytical Solutions with updated Meta Data
  6. The capability for manual Meta Data changes (such as Mud Properties)
  7. The processing of Real-Time Rig KPIs
  8. The opening of the path forward for Rig Automation
