VRTOC
The use of Real-Time Operations Centers enables a smaller group of experts to support a larger number of active rigs. However:
- Monitoring and management of data is manual
- Human Resource Intensive
- The Entire fleet cannot be monitored efficiently
- There is a often a lag in the receipt of the data
- Data is low frequency owing to satellite bandwidth limitations
- Responses and Recommendations may be sent too late to avoid NPT situations
- Required Meta Data is often not available at the Right Time, or at all (not in real-time data streams)
- There are simple threshold alarms but this leads to false alerts and is resource intensive
4IR Virtual Real-Time Operations Centres
The use of Smart Alerts and Automated Meta Data Management will enable:
- The Creation of a Virtual Real-Time Operations Centre: Internal Cloud + Connectivity to Edge resources
- Automated Smart Alerting for True Well Incidents using Manage-by-Exception (MBE) Login
- The coverage of the entire Rig Fleet with the existing RTOC Resources
- The reduction of false Alerts
- The automation of Engineering Analytical Solutions with updated Meta Data
- The capability for manual Meta Data changes (such as Mud Properties)
- The processing of Real-Time Rig KPIs
- The opening of the path forward for Rig Automation
